{"id":2399,"date":"2010-04-14T08:27:40","date_gmt":"2010-04-14T13:27:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/lifeasprayer.wordpress.com\/?p=2399"},"modified":"2014-09-10T08:40:40","modified_gmt":"2014-09-10T13:40:40","slug":"prayers-of-adoration-praying-the-names-of-god","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lisadelay.com\/blog\/prayers-of-adoration-praying-the-names-of-god\/","title":{"rendered":"Prayers of Adoration (Praying the Names of God)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>At my <span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/evangelical.edu\"><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\">school<\/span><\/a><\/span>, if you have ever taken Dr <a href=\"http:\/\/www.evangelical.edu\/index.php?option=com_content&amp;task=view&amp;id=97&amp;Itemid=81\">Mellinger<\/a>, then you have engaged in this particular prayer form.<\/p>\n<h2>Praying this way, is a way of praising and worshiping God\u2013a useful spiritual practice.<\/h2>\n<p>It&#8217;s quite simple, and may take on variations, or adaptations. Make a list of 10-20 words for God (Encouraged is including names for all 3 parts of the Trinity: Creator, Redeemer, Spirit, etc.). <\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>Adjectives are fine, or names of God found in the Bible.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>(<span style=\"color: #008000;\">Examples<\/span>: Savior, Father, Light of Lights, Lamb, Protector, Reconciler, etc.)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #003366;\">For Prayer in a Group<\/span>: <\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>Pick a name from your list that seems to \u00a0stand out as be more meaningful, and take turns praying your selections in adoration to God, calling God by the name, and saying something of your own, similar to the following: <\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">&#8220;God, you are Savior. I thank you that you are a Savior to us, and you&#8217;ve given yourself up for us.&#8221;<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #000080;\"><span style=\"color: #008000;\">Everyone then may respond together in agreement:<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">&#8220;God you are Savior&#8221;<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #000080;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">(or whatever name has been selected)<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">It&#8217;s amazing how 5-10 minutes of this will change the whole atmosphere in the room.
