Advent Poem

Make Way

Make haste to wait
Near the ramshackle bits
The King arriving empty
for our fullness
Exquisite vulnerability
introduced in shabby din
How anti-climatic this royalty
Now mothered by a lonely
girl of canard
Like the perfect mistake
Under the radar of our reason
Far back in our imagination
