Sweets and Flies

My dad used to tell me that old familiar adage, “You can get more flies with honey than vinegar.”

I always thought, “Isn’t it bees that want the honey?”

Today I did that dreaded thing of repeating the same advice to my daughter who’s been percolating on some sass.

But, it’s made me consider my own tactics, even with her.

Am I too often barking for change?

Am I apprehending my “methods” for getting what I want or need before I employ them?

What about you? How’s your honey?
